Idea summarized in the topic. Basically this would open up a huge ammount of land for a new land rush, and second more importantly would invite more people to go to brit and do pvp in this zone. This was the border during beta and i feel is much better and much clearer for everyone. Sent from my phone, pardon typos.
Changing guard zones won't change shit about pvp or where it happens here. There isn't a "huge" amount of land that could be placed on over there, unless you want people clogging up the west Britain farms with houses. We don't need another land rush, because the shard is wide open and you can still go place houses right now, in many many places. Considering the stables, warriors guild and blacksmith shop that are just west of that bridge, there's no reason to break the GZ down. I know this wasn't from Beta, but it was damn close and I'm pretty sure that GZ never changed in the history of this shard. (unless you mean UO Beta, in which case, lol).
You could try checking the map, that clearly shows buildings that are part of the city of Britain. The purpose is pretty clear there.
New crops, great idea. Opening up the area for people too place houses is just silly at this point in the shard's life. You do realize that if that change were to happen, the most likely scenarios will involve the IDOC crew murdering the shit out of everyone outside Britain the day of the land rush, right? While the thought of some new properties there may seem appealing, the fact that you're not likely to get any of them, should be a deterrent to wanting such a change. Like Alice said, I wouldn't want to see a bunch of houses cluttering up Britain farms either. I'm all for pissed off farmers that aggro you, but only if you steal their crops and get flagged grey for the theft. Unless you're on Bucs, then murderous farmers could be fitting. lol
I've seen scaled back, just encourages fighting on the bridge where half the fighters are hugging on the G line.
