On this day in 1959, the Guggenheim Museum opened in New York City. And where did Solomon Guggenheim get his wealth; mining of course!

On this day in 1962, President John F. Kennedy announced he had ordered a blockade of Cuba. Luckily, Cuba had a large stock of ingots stored away!

On this day in 4004 BC, the creation of the world begins according to the calculations of Archbishop James Ussher. There are no documents showing the total ingot cost for this but it is expected to be in the dozens.

On this day in 1931 the George Washington Bridge was dedicated. The 4760 foot long bridge was the longest in the world at that time. The bridge hung from cables that weight a total of 28,100 tons (4,014,285.7 stone)! If these cables were made of iron ingots, and iron ingots weight .1 stone that would be 40,142,857 ingots or 341 million gold pieces. A bargain!

On this day in 1853, Paiute Indians attacked a U.S. Army Captain and his party of 37 soldiers and railroad surveyors in Utah. Don't let PKs wreck your party, defend yourself with armor/weapons crafted with the finest locally mined ingots!
