If these were made into sweet vendor houses, combined with Dalavar's rune library, could be a really hot spot. Someone will have to take the lead on it though.
IMO if you can't sell these and have the housing slots on your account, keep these. Servers growing, these will get sold if not now, at a later time.
My thoughts: stop trying to squeeze nickels out of houses and spots that were either freely available, or given away for free. If players wanted to put vendors near the library, why wouldn't I just friend them and let them put the vendors *IN* the library? It's a great location to have new player housing. Maybe use the houses for that, or give them to someone who would do that? Or just give them to new players. Seeing a half dozen posts in the past week advertising these spots and bumping auctions that no one has interest in is sort of frustrating. I gave away houses in these locations to new players after putting a ton of time into making the rune library. It's a bummer to see someone trying to capitalize off of my effort and good faith. Sorry to be grumpy, I tried to avoid commenting in these threads, but you've kind of hit upon the trifecta of stuff that annoys me: house-hoarding, constant advertising of crap no one wants, and attempting to profit from someone else's hard work and generosity. /rant
Advertising about crap no one wants is 80% of the trade forum. Also, you didn't give me these houses. The spots were open so I bought houses and placed them (super sketchy, I know.) Keep your grumpy posts to yourself... or at least out of my sale thread. I have an opinion about the source of your anger but I'll keep that to myself. FWIW, I seriously debated buying the log+marble if a large smithy could fit there. I think the properties are absolutely valuable and worth the time to try and sell. Dalavar, you recently purchased the LTower just North of this spot from me at deed +175k (http://uorforum.com/threads/sale-cove-city-peninsula-tower.8374/), I'm not sure what the problem with this sale is.
A 2-story fits there nicely, but IIRC not a large smithy. I saw someone else offer their opinion on the sale, and figured I'd do the same - especially since my name and work is referenced in the threads. There's not some crime against humanity here, just figured I'd suggest trying to put it to good use rather than trying to make 25k off of free, empty space.
There's no boat to miss here. I hate bumping this but I think as a spectator this needs to be said. Baine though you took out the name of the player (but now are insulting him) this whole things looks a bit stalker-ish. I didn't realize until Dalavar's response that you weren't doing this with his blessing. Just plopping houses down around his rune library and going "OMFG think of the vendors! deed +25 and its yours!" under the guise of you're doing some great deed for the community is plain silly. You can at times be overly enthusiastic to the point where it's annoying... However. Dalavar you marked a lot of runes and put them in books, then designed a (pretty) rune library. You didn't cure cancer. Get over yourself. The land around you and "your name" isn't some brand that needs to be protected. Is Baine's incessant bumps and buzzing around your library like a fly annoying? Yeah. Would he have gone away had you not swatted at him? Likely. Will he now? Lord who knows. Sorry for bumping this.
