I think this could get tricky.. It started at 12:13 - 1 hours time. 60 minutes. Should technically end at 1:12? Orome would win at 350K? But this sentence would then put Larloch a winner at 486k
my forum time stamp says that Orome's bid @500k was at 14 minutes. So he is the winner as all is clear here
SB - 1GP Winner gets all at 1hour! Everlast, Yesterday at 11:13 PM 486k Larloch, Today at 12:13 AM 500 Orome, Today at 12:14 AM No, I was the winner...
What?!? You mean YOU posted in the 61st minute of a 60 min auction. See how you bid at 12:14? That is 1 min past the 11:13 posting time. I posted in the exact minute, with the highest bid.
A 60 minute time limit expires in this case at 12:12 and 59 seconds at 12:13 you have started into the 61st minute as I stated previously. My follow up bid as per the timings you laid out earlier would have been in the 62nd minute.
OR... Auction was posted at 11:13:59 And Larloch bid at 12:13:01 Well within your 60min rule interpretation Since exact seconds are not tracked, its been accepted custom that 12:13 would have been the endtime. 12:14 would have been too late I am just mad I missed this cool auction
I suppose we could go back and forth on the merits of time forever. I will differ judgement to Everlast.
Upon further review, Larloch was the winner! 11:13 + 60 = 12:13. I was a little intoxicated that evening.. okay, a lot intoxicated, and by reading up, I couldn't even see the time legibly! lol.. Larloch agreed to honor the bid, even though I had previously indicated he lost, and he no longer wanted the eggs! I had already talked to Orome, who did still want them, but agreed I should honor the 60 min auction rules and sell to Larloch. This turned out to be Orome's lucky day because this then made Orome's bid of $350k the winning bid, or I would have to conduct a second auction citing agreement to cancel winning bid with the winner. However, I felt this was my doing as Larloch did want the eggs at the time of the auction! That's how I understand auction/bidding rules anyway, that any bid post auction end is invalid, and if for some reason the winning bid doesn't work out (my fault, completely) then the auctioneer should honor the 2nd highest bid, or cancel the auction and re-list. I do not want to be considered a poor auctioneer though and it was my fault this thing fell through, so relisting was out.. both other players were willing to honor auction rules and so I felt a compelling need to honor the rules. Congrats to Orome with the winning bid @350k! I will however, post my level of intoxication when relevant on future auctions! Thanks all for playing, it was fun and I thank both of you for being understanding and do apologize again for all the confusion!
