So, i'm in occul, is there a place with a map of the place, where all the shops are in the town, where the dungeon is, etc...
I wanna know... where are they, is there a detailed map?
Does anyone have a link to a beginners guide on what to do, where to go, etc.. i'm lost...
Also, there are a bunch of items in town, but when i try picking them up, it says you cannot pick up...

Welcome aboard! Yea, most items you see on the ground are just for decoration purposes. City beautification at its finest.

Goal #1 - You need to make cash. There's a lot of ways you can do this. You can pick cotton and shear sheep to turn into cloth. The cloth can be sold to other players, turned into bandages for healing, or used to train a tailor. You can mine ore, turn it into ingots, and sell those to other players for a decent profit. And you can of course just go bash some zombies in the nearest graveyard.

Make sure to join IRC while you play. Lots of (mostly) helpful people are in there and can answer questions on the fly.

The bulk of the informative content on UO Renaissance has been written by our players. Gideon has complied a list of all the guides that players have created in this thread.

One good place to start might be the original manual for UO Renaissance. It is a large pdf file and can be downloaded here.

These two resources should start you on the right path. Ultima is probably one of the harder games out there to learn, but by far the most rewarding.

    Welcome aboard!

    Welcome!!

As other have said, IRC is an invaluable tool we have. Click on the link on the top right that says Web Based IRC, and just start asking questions. Also feel free to type: "/Join #C^V" (without the " 's), there's a bunch of us there more than willing to help out with any questions you might have or in game assistance.

C^V and A^T are probably pretty good guilds to start out on as far as receiving a lot of help and basic learning resources. I think Pirul is GM of C^V and Blaise is the GM of A^T.
