I can connect to IRC however, I cannot connect to any of the stock #example channels. Singular or known issue?
Got this error... Flash policy problem. If you are the server owner, please read http://redmine.lightirc.com/projects/lightirc/wiki/Flash_Policy_setup_instructions. You need to install a flash policy daemon at eu.chat4all.org (port 843).
Ya I used to get that a lot using the web IRC from the website. I use mibbit now and don't have any issues. A lot of people use standalone irc clients as well with much success. In another thread you were asking about boat types so I guess your a fisher. I hear hexchat lets you set the IRC windows transparency, which would be useful while fishing so you can see if your chars pull up anything or get an afk gump trhrough the irc window.
