When I tell my tillerman "forward one", why does he take my boat more than one tile, but when I tell him "back one", he takes me one tile?

I'd like for "forward one" to go....one tile.

I had the same thought once, but the basic answer is that forward movement on a ship is twice as fast, so each 'forward one' is twice what any other direction would be. It's just how 'high speed forward movement' works in UO. Forward is the same speed between movements but each movement forward is two tiles.

The command really should be "forward once" vs "forward one". Otherwise Blaise is correct.
