You can't make coloured sandals. They come out standard colour whatever leather is used.

im wondering where the 1109 exceptionals i just saw before the post came from then? before i could type -hue and take a screenshot the second time they were gone. all i remember was the players deer mask was 1109 as well. and if not mistaken name started with a K and was holding a worn out spellbook or something in dark hue

I just made a pair to make doubly sure I was recalling correctly and they came out standard brown. Also can't be dyed with a leather dye tub.

I've seen reference to prepatch sandals before so maybe they could be made in the past?

Yeah you're referring to pre-patched sandals. I believe these usually sell in the range of 500k - 700k a pair.

i really appreciate the information, and if anyone has pair for sale i am interested.
