I saw some places having ladders on the external wall of a SST, outside the property.
how is it possible to achieve that?

I believe i know the place youre talking about.

It shouldnt be possible, this ladder was lifted from the other house below that SST and isnt accessable to my understanding.

    Mind sharing a screenshot?

Deco tool and shenanigans, its purely asthetic though I believe and doesnt actually function as a ladder/entrace to your abode.

Where can one buy a House Decoration Tool? I can't find the info, other than a fairly non-specific "You can buy them from NPCs".

My thief has seen them in people's backpacks :D but I'd rather buy one legitimately. And besides, they're always blessed when I've snooped them :D

One of the npcs in the architect shop should have it. If not, then Innkeeper or Provisioner I believe.

PSA: You can't steal them, they are all blessed.

The same NPC that sells house deeds sells house deco tools. They cost 10001gp and are all blessed.

They can't do everything you see people do, though. They can only lift things so far. To lift things higher, you have to use tables and ladders

@Kirby , is there a guide somewhere on how to do this? I see people bypassing normal z-axis limits all the time but I can never seem to figure it out...

Thanks folks. All blessed eh?@Kirby I mainly want it to turn things round (boxes, clock frames etc.) Am I right in thinking that is possible before I hand over my hard-earned 10,001 GP?

Some items can be rotated and others can't. Definitely buy a tool regardless.

Agreed. If you own a house and use it for more than a drop or cub house, you need at least one of these.

Those ladders are set from the small tower next to it. They're not usable but sure look cool.
